Toddlers and Tiara's complete child abuse on national television

Updated on December 1, 2013

Down right child abuse

I am not one for watching reality shows because for one they are ridiculous but Sunday beng bored and scrolling through channel after channel I came across the show Toddlers and Tiara's.

What a horrible national tribute to child abuse I must say. Mothers making their children bake in the sun to get a tan, exposing them to the deadly melanoma skin cancer. Having their children injected with botox, which could cause permanent damage to them. Spraying toxic tanning paint on delicate skin. Screaming at them for not doing a good job. Making them practice hours on end at home when it is clear that the child doesn't want to partake in that nonsense. Dressing them up like hookers with a pound of make up on their faces.

I was livid after watching these children five and under be pressured and abused by their mothers and fathers. We are supposed to be their guidance, love them, and protect them.

The thing that really baffeled me the most is that a television station would see fit to expose child abuse nationally right in the homes of millions of people that would watch it.

After about 10 minutes in to the show I could not watch it anymore because my heart broke for those children. What is society telling these children? We are trying to irradicate abuse but yet the television industry supports it.

Parents wise up if this is the kind of behavior you have towards your children. They will hate you for sure when they are old enough to know what is really going on. There is nothing wrong with a child competing if it is done the correct way. But forcing them into something for you own satisfaction is horrible. It's not about the child winning it's about the mother winning. You molding you children to be hateful creatures and life is tough enough all over.

These children have no voice

Beauty Pageant History

Beauty pageants started in 1921 when the owner of an Atlantic City hotel struck upon the idea to help boost tourism. However, the idea had already circulated through "Most Beautiful Child" contests held in major cities across the country. The Little Miss America pageant began in the 1960s at Palisades Amusement Park in New Jersey. Originally, it was for teenagers from 13 to 17 years old, but by 1964 there were over 35,000 participants, which prompted an age division.

The modern child beauty pageant emerged in the early 1960s, held in Miami, Florida. Since then, the industry has grown to include about 250,000 pageants. It is an increasingly lucrative business, bringing in about twenty billion dollars a year.

The murder of JonBenét Ramsey in late 1996 turned the public spotlight onto child beauty pageants. Critics began to question the ethics of parents who would present their child in such a way. Dan Rather was noted for criticizing CBS for airing Ramsey’s tapes, calling them “kiddie porn."

In 2001, HBO aired its Emmy-winning Living Dolls: The Making of a Child Beauty Queen, which garnered much attention. Additionally, TLC has created shows such as Toddlers & Tiaras and King of the Crown, the former dedicated to the world of High Glitz child pageantry and the latter to the world of pageant coaching. What will it take

How long will these child pageants go on before one of them is raped, murdered or kidnapped and sold into prostitution rings. Parents do not realize that all you are doing is exploiting your child to the most evil pedophiles out on the street.

If you need to see your daughter do this because this is what you want, then you need to enter an adult pageant. Children were meant to be guided in the right direction.

A 15 year old girl, who was made to be in a pageant since 2 years old has slept with over 500 men. How is this not exploiting our children.

Think about what you are doing before it is too late. These children cry, throw temper tantrums, have horrible behavior because you are making them look like a two bit hooker from Brooklyn. They are given caffeine and Botox and urged to behave like a slutty adult woman. Is it fair for these innocent children to be put in harms way? Why isn't something being done about this by the people who run it.

If it was just a one town pageant say for Christmas and it was done tastefully by dressing these sweet babies in beautiful Christmas clothes instead of half naked with fake boobs, then I could see allowing your child to participate in it.

Remember that children learn what they are taught first at home, second at school and lastly at church if they go there. Give them a childhood instead of making them act like a grownup.
